About Us
For over 130 years, Saint James Lodge 138 and Bethshevier Chapter 389a have stood as pillars of community in Eden, North Carolina. Our historic venue on Henry Street has welcomed families, friends, and organizations for weddings, reunions, meetings, and celebrations of life.

Our History
From its founding in the late 19th century, Saint James Lodge has been a beacon of fellowship and service in Alamance County.
1891
Saint James Lodge No. 138 was chartered, establishing a place of fellowship, charity, and brotherhood in the growing town of Eden. The lodge quickly became a cornerstone of civic life.
1902
Bethshevier Chapter 389a was established, expanding the mission to include women members and deepening the community's commitment to service and mutual support.
Today
Over 130 years later, both lodges continue to serve as a vital community resource — hosting events, supporting local causes, and preserving a rich heritage of hospitality.
